7 years
Monday the 13th was our 7th wedding anniversary. I can't believe it's been 7 years! It still seems like it was just yesterday I was planning my wedding, but at the same time it feels like we've been together forever.
(Speaking of April 13, 2002, did anyone watch The Office yesterday? That date was referenced twice! How weird is that? John didn't find it nearly as exciting as I did....but it really is exciting that Michael and Dwight both mentioned our exact wedding date isn't it?....Isn't it?)
Anyhoo, back to my original thought. Here's us on our honeymoon.
How cute were we back then? So young, so in love.....so skinny!
(I would have put a wedding photo here but that would require scanning a picture and I'm way too lazy for that.)
As you can see we haven't changed a bit in the last 7 years.
Ba-ha-ha-ha.....I can't even type that last sentence with a straight face.
7 years, 3 states, and (almost) 2 kids later, and EVERYTHING has changed......all for the good (well, except for the few extra pounds)....in ways I could never have imagined.
So to celebrate we dropped the munchkin off at grandma and grandpa's and headed down to the Oregon coast for a little getaway.
It was gorgeous....and quiet.....and relaxing....and very, very quiet.
We did a lot of sitting on our hotel balcony looking at this...

and eventually this...
Besides all the looking at (and walking on) the beach. We did a lot of eating, and....well....that's about it. It was wonderful...and quiet (did I mention the quiet?)
Although we enjoyed our alone time immensely, I have to admit most of our conversation revolved around how much Blake would love the beach....and about how we couldn't wait to bring him and the baby here some day and go camping and fly kites and build sand castles and have a bonfire on the beach.....etc and so on.....
We're pathetic, I know.
All in all, it was a great week. John got to forget about work for a few days and I didn't have to do a single load of laundry or wash one dirty dish.
We needed this.

WOW!!! Yay!!! I am sooo glad you guys got away! So, since I had my dates off, thinking it was the 11th, did my card get there on time?? heehheee.... I am SO glad you got away! (Did I already mention that??) And Kevin and I are the same way on "vacations"... talking about the kids 1/2 the time.
Congratulations on you both on 7 years!! It is amazing how time flies!!! It seems like just yesterday you two were at Teen Mania!
So glad for you two! We just celebrated 6 years on 4/13. We did a weekend away last year and I'm so glad we did so since we have Luke this year and couldn't get away.
