It's good to have career goals
If you're a mom, or have ever taken care of young children, you've no doubt experienced that moment when you realize things are really quiet around the house.....perhaps a little too quiet? I'll tell ya, it can strike fear into the bravest of us. If you're like me, I usually panic because I know there's a mess somewhere to clean up....I hate messes, really, really hate them. (Why did I have a child, you ask? Good question.)
Well today I experienced one of those moments of silence and immediately ran upstairs (the place the messes usually happen) to investigate. To my great delight there were no messes to clean up, just a very cute little boy sporting this.
Yes, he's in the bathtub.....with his pajamas on......and a diaper on his head. My heart is swelling with pride at this very moment.
When I walked in the room and asked him what he was doing he growled at me and told me he was a jaguar.
Well duh, I should have known......who hasn't stood in awe of the untamed beauty of a jaguar while admiring it's Thomas the train P.Js and Winnie the Pooh swimming diaper.....it's only logical.
Later on in the day a friend and I took our boys to the children's museum. We were noticing how methodical her oldest was as he was putting some blocks together in a perfect pattern. She mentioned he looked like a budding little engineer.
This got me thinking. Based on the earlier diaper-on-the head-growling-like-a-jaguar episode, what is Blake destined to be?
Then it dawned on me.
I have two words for you. Mexican Wrestler.
I know what you're thinking....the resemblance is remarkable.
Sure he's not mexican, and his wrestling skills consist of unintentional kicks to the groin and hair pulling....but a mother can dream can't she?
Now we just have to come up with a stage name. I'm thinking the "La aterradora pañal encabezada jaguar."
I think that loosely translates into something about a terrifying diaper headed jaguar.
I know it's a little long and doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.....we're still working on it.

How very proud you must be! That is priceless.
I am STILL laughing... and it's making me cough! you are one of the best storytellers I have ever known...
I am in the process of going thru Katie's clothes... I have a few thins set aside for you, but I get the impression you're not looking for much... is that true?? I don't want to take the joy of shopping away from you, but would love to bless(translated "spoil") this little girl... just let me know when to stop, okay?? Seriously, right now I have a few items in varying sizes and a couple pair of shoes... one of those items is an outfit that I loved that you sent for Katie... one of my faves! It's only fair to let your little girl wear it, too, right??
That is hilarious!!! I love it! Thanks for posting this.
I love a post that can make me laugh out loud - and you did it to me again!
What a great story!
He is such a cute little jaguar! Lately Caleb has been a turtle...what is it about putting things on your head that they find so appealing? Anyway, sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I've been studying for registry...I take my physics on Thursday. What hours are they looking for (if it hasn't been filled yet) and are there specific Saturdays each month they are looking for? I may be interested in picking up a little extra work. My goal is to go somewhere soon that doesn't have any call...it's definitely starting to get really old!
